About the Opportunity
The City of Penticton Recreation Department is currently seeking Summer Day Camp Leaders. Are you responsible, energetic, personable, resourceful, and well-organized? If so, this may be the job for you! Day Camp Leaders work as a team to provide a summer to remember for children 5-12 years old.
Terms of Employment:
- June 15 – September 4, 2026 (Approximately)
- 40 hours/week between the hours of 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday-Friday
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop detailed program plans to ensure all activities are age appropriate and engaging
- Lead and supervise a variety of activities, with the safety of all camp children being priority at all times
- Build positive rapport with all campers and their families
- Establish and maintain open communication with parents/caregivers and colleagues
Qualifications:
- Experience and/or education background working with children and youth
- Demonstrated leadership abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Comfortable swimming and participating in a variety of physical activities
- Complete a satisfactory criminal record check
- Valid First Aid and CPR-C
Preferred Qualifications:
- High Five Certification
- Valid NLS or Bronze Cross Certification
